Theater 
Classical theater:
The classical theatre is called Hat Tuong in the North and Hat Boi in the South.The classical theatre was formed in the 12th century by the Mongols. The Hat Tuong theatre, very conventional, borrows his gestures and his setting of stage to the chinese opera. The modern theatre is called Cai Luong. He originated in the South, Mekong River delta . Cai Luong is influenced by West.
Water puppet theater:

Probably the most original theatrical art form is the "water puppet theater". for a long time it was thought that this form a theater also had its origin in China, but more recently it has been proved that it developed in north Vietnam, and goes back to the early part of the first millenium, during the Ly dynasty . The surface of water serves as the stage for the puppets, which are operated from behind a bamboo screen thet represents the traditionnal communal house of village.
